“Ten Billion Light Years in Diameter” | Through December 2013; Museo de Arte de Puerto Rico

Thousands of dots in an array of sizes and saturated colors come together to form “Ten Billion Light Years in Diameter” by abstract painter Eric Hayden French at the Museo de Arte de Puerto Rico (Museum of Art of Puerto Rico). Born in Indiana, French built his life in Puerto Rico after earning degrees in both parts of the world. His fascinating spots of 3-D acrylic paint on canvas take pointillism to new heights. Bold in hue and technique, French’s pieces complement the permanent collection inside this eclectic museum that encourages a well-earned appreciation for Puerto Rican art. Visitors from across the country often earmark an afternoon to explore what has become one of the Caribbean’s largest museums. (787-977-6277; mapr.org)
